G2-FSM/G3-FIM
CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT & MANUFACTURING OF FLUOROSILICONE INJECTION MACHINE (G2-FSM/G3-FIM)
Lockheed Martin Engineering contracted LX3 Corporation to handle the complete design, solid modeling, sourcing, manufacturing, and documentation of a G2 Fluorosilicone Injection Machine for a Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program. This piece of equipment was developed in conjunction with our client and is used for injecting Fluorosilicone sealant into various passageways on an F-35 JSF during assembly. To begin this project, Lx3 designed the G2 machine based on customer concept and requirements using Solidwork CAD software. Machine was then prototyped and tested to assure proper operation. After final design approval, Lx3 produced machine in limited production runs. CNC machining, welding, assembly and testing is provided by Lx3 as well as sourcing of off the shelf components.
In 2018, Lx3 was contracted to design a reduced size, special application version of this machine. Designated as the G3-FIM, this machine is currently used at Marietta, GA facility for injecting in areas of limited access. The production and support of G2/G3 injection machines is currently an ongoing project for our company. Built to order in just 10-12 weeks, the G2/G3 Fluorosilicone Injection Machines have been delivered to our client's facilities in Fort Worth, Texas, Marietta, Georgia and Palmdale, California. LX3 Corporation has also supplied equipment to overseas JSF partners Alenia Aeronautica, Italy and USAF based in Japan. To ensure the quality of our products and guarantee they fulfill our client's unique specifications, we perform manual inspection of all components as needed during assembly and test/calibrate machine function. In addition, we provide Lockheed Martin with full documentation for this machinery, which includes a comprehensive operation manual. Our products always meet with absolute customer satisfaction for both design and performance.
